HDCC Annual General Meeting - 2024

The 2024 Annual General Meeting of the Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce, were held on January 10th 2025, at Jade Green Hotel, Hambantota. Honourable Southern Province Governor Mr. Bandula Harishchandra was the chief guest.

A large number of members from across the district attended this event and, the election of the new board of directors and officers for the year 2025, was done by the former president of the Chamber of Commerce Mr. Hemanth Padmalal.

Mr. Asela Manimendra, the proprietor of Ransika Jewelry, Beliatta had been selected as the new president. As well as Mr. K.H. Darshana Deshapriya, the proprietor of Darshana Digital Color Lab, Tangalle had been selected as the Senior Vice President and Mr. N.G Manjula Nishantha, the Managing Director of Malindu Dairies Pvt. Ltd company had been selected as the Vice President of Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Shiran Muthumala, proprietor of Tissamaharama Muthumala Trade Center as the immediate past president. A board of directors was elected with 19 members representing various areas, trade sectors, and membership types, including the office bearers.

Mr. Duminda Sanjeewa, proprietor of DS Construction, Hambantota, and Mr. Chaminda Abeygunasekara, the managing director of Kaduwela Solar Steel Pvt. Company, representing the corporate membership, were elected as new board members. Here, Mr. Shiran Muthumala, former President of the Hambantota District Chamber of Commerce, that gave his leadership voluntary for the last two years was highly evaluated.

As directors retiring this year while holding board positions in the Chamber of Commerce, the honourable service of the previous President, the Managing Director, the owner of Dumidu Industries Pvt. Company, Hambantota Mr. Chaminda Rusiru Maliyedda, and the managing director of Piliyandala Angel Aquarium Pvt. Company, Mr. Rohan Fernando, were also appreciated.

Along with the general assembly, Mr. Ajith Mohan Perera (Ran Kumbala), the founder of Anuradha Ceramic Pvt. Company, gave a topical lecture on entrepreneurship.

On this occasion, all the members of the Chamber of Commerce, past presidents, committee members and as auditor and company secretary T & D Management Consultant Pvt. Ltd participated.
